The flipbook dictionaries (pictured on the right) was something that I tried with my students. We would read everyday and find words that fit in each category. It was fun and an interactive way for them to pay attention to the words that they come across!
But now that school is out for them, it also means I am out of a job for July/August, other than helping out at the restaurant. So, due to boredom, I ended up addicted to Pinterest. At the beginning, I was reluctant to start an account, but another teacher had encouraged me by saying there are all sorts of great materials and craft ideas on there. Now, it seems like I am on there all the time. I love the layout and easy categorizing of each of the pins. I have all my teaching ideas on one board, and all the rest of my stuff grouped into different boards for easy organization.
It's nearly August. I'm loving all this free time, but I'm also starting to look forward to classes starting up in the fall again.
