So, yes, computer skills are learned in conjunction with other activities, but I don't think that removing Computer classes is school
Today's class talked about the integration of technology in the classroom. While watching many of the videos, I think that is is a very good tool to have in the classroom to assist teaching. However, one of the questions asked was "should we have a class that's called 'Computers'" to which many people answered with "no". I disagree with that, and I feel that computer classes would actually benefit students. True, technology literacy has come a long way since I was taking computer classes in elementary and high school, but there is just so much technology out there that not all of it can be integrated into classroom teaching. I learned how to type by practising on a sheet of paper because there weren't enough computers for all of us to sit with an actual keyboard. Nowadays, a lot of kids can already do that because they have access to this kind of stuff at home. But what I'm considering is the other stuff that Computer classes can offer. For example, in one of my computer classes, I learned a bunch of things like html, photography, using Macs, photoshop, animation programs, etc.
